Abstract

OBJECTIVE: to identify the professional perception of cognitive impairment regarding early signs, risk factors and diagnostic limitation. METHOD: cross-sectional descriptive study with an analytical approach in 43 health professionals. RESULTS: the characteristics of the professional profile, ages range from 31 to 40 years, 81.4% female, with a multidisciplinary approach. Professionals refer to a 53.5% increase in adult care. The reasons for consultation are difficulty concentrating and chronic stress. 65.1% have cognitive decline. The factors of cognitive deterioration identified are medical disorders with 37.2% and lifestyle with 27.9%. and in the limitations for the treatment, the inaccessibility to treatments due to high costs obtained significant results with 55.8% and the abandonment of the treatment with 23.3%. CONCLUSION: the study is of a multidisciplinary nature, young adult professionals, with a predominance of the female gender. The early signs of the disease identified, young adults seek professional care, in the reasons for consultation highlight the difficulty of concentration and chronic stress, with decline related to cognitive impairment in patients.
