Abstract

PROBLEM: adolescents have love experiences in a short time to explore, due to limited access to sexual education and the subjectivity of the concept of love. The concept of love is subjective because the personality of each adolescent is influenced, where brain chemistry plays an important role due to dopamine, serotonin, testosterone and estrogen levels. OBJECTIVE: to distinguish the profiles of the different personalities regarding love in adolescents belonging to the Hunger Relief International HRI foundation, San Miguel Petapa, Guatemala. METHOD: non-experimental design, cross-sectional, quantitative type and level of descriptive scope, a questionnaire was constructed using the Helen Fisher personality test. RESULTS: 41 adolescents were found through Google Forms, the predominant age range was 16 to 17 years old, predominantly female, of Ladino ethnicity and basic and diversified education. the primary personality type 22% corresponds to dopamine, 29% to serotonin, 5% to testosterone and 44% to estrogen. While in the secondary personality type, 27% corresponds to dopamine, 29% to serotonin, 20% to testosterone and 24% to stress, therefore, the most frequent primary and secondary personality types were stimulation and serotonin. respectively. CONCLUSION: The personality characteristics of the population, according to their personality type, are intuitive, compassionate, with good social skills, communicative, empathic, loyal, strong, committed, organized, defenders of people who make up their social environment as friends, partner, relatives and their behaviors are dominated by estrogen and serotonin.
