PROBLEM: what are the difficulties and strengths of the neuropsychological profile of children with neurodevelopmental disorders of school age? OBJECTIVE: to analyze the areas of difficulty and strength of the neuropsychological maturity profile in school-age children diagnosed with neurodevelopmental disorders. METHOD: type of quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study with an analytical approach, through which the areas of difficulty and strength of the neuropsychological profile of 88 school-age children diagnosed with neurodevelopmental disorders in a private clinic were analyzed. RESULTS: the global neuropsychological maturity index of the study population indicates that the largest percentage of the population has a low average neuropsychological profile, a significant population with a medium and high neuropsychological profile, due to the diagnostic characteristics, degree and specifiers of each disorder of neurodevelopment that was part of the study. CONCLUSION: The population with neurodevelopmental disorders presents difficulties in cognitive skills such as comprehensive and expressive language, they present a deficit in executive function, skills related to verbal memory and skills related to verbal communication such as phonological fluency. Within the areas of strength are visual perception and semantic fluency, in some cases, skills related to cognitive functions such as memory, comprehensive language are increased depending on the degree and specifier of the disorder.
