Fortifying teachers’ network in executive functions for preschool

Abstract

PROBLEM: What are the benefits of empowering the network of teachers in executive functions for preschool? OBJECTIVE: to train preschool teachers on the importance of executive functions in learning and development with children aged 3 to 6 years. METHOD: a cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted with 80 preschool teachers who participated in online training on the topic "Importance of executive functions in learning and their development in children from 3 to 6 years old, RESULTS: the most frequent age range in teachers was 18 to 27 years with 50% (N=40), 38% (N=31) belonging to the central region, 28.75% (N=23) have university academic training, bachelor's degree, with a predominance of 1 to 5 years of work, representing 43.75% (N=35). The 8 executive functions have a percentage of dysfunction above 35%, inhibition is the executive function that presents more affectation with 45% (N = 36)  CONCLUSION: it is important to train preschool teachers in the knowledge of executive functions in learning with children from 3 to 6 years old, there is high executive dysfunction in preschool children in charge of the teachers participating in the study.
