Abstract

PROBLEM: physical-behavioral manifestations of hormonal neuro-imbalance in women with polycystic ovary syndrome. OBJECTIVE: to analyze the frequency of the appearance of physical-behavioral manifestations typical of the hormonal neuroimbalance of polycystic ovary syndrome in women of childbearing age. METHOD: a cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out with a qualitative research approach, inductive method and interview technique and data collection form instruments and interview guide with 88 women with polycystic ovary syndrome in Guatemala and Latin America. RESULTS: it is revealed that the age range of women with the most frequent polycystic ovary syndrome was 21 to 25 years with 34.10% (N=88), finding multiple physical-behavioral manifestations of hormonal neuro-imbalance such as alterations in the menstrual cycle. in an 84% incidence, accompanied by cysts in the ovaries with 81%, face with oily or mixed skin with 67% and 53.41% with hirsutism. Stress in 64% of them, 59% suffer anxiety and 53.41% depression, irritability 52.27%, etc. CONCLUSION: women with polycystic ovary syndrome present multiple physical-behavioral manifestations such as alopecia, hirsutism, acne, among others.
